Annual Snow Day

Every year we enjoy a trip with our small group up to McCall to spend the day playing in the snow. It's a really nice getaway and chance to get out of town and play.

This year all the moms went up on Sat. and spent the night. We had a blast enjoying some great grown up time chatting and playing games together. Then on Sunday the dads and all the kids drove up to join us for some fun sledding in the snow.

There wasn't much snow there this year...compared to previous years, but that didn't seem to bother the kids any.

We'll call this the beautiful before picture of LA...

And another before pic. She had 2 runs down the big hill and then she had an incredibly fast run, hit a patch of ice, and ended up sliding down on her face (ouch!). She came back up to the top of the hill bloody and all scraped up.

EJ on the other hand went down the hill about a million times and she had the most beautiful smile all afternoon...we don't see that smile very often, so it was such a joy to see her so happy for a change.

Blurry but still cute. KW went down the hill with daddy a couple of times, but had much more fun just playing in the snow.

Hands down, my favorite photo of the day!!! IK had his feet out to use them as brakes when he was going too fast, but they ended up spraying him...a lot!

Some of the photos turned out really dark because of the shadows/shade from trees on the hill. It really wasn't that dark outside, and you can see that better on the shots where I managed to get them in a sunny patch on the hill.

We made sure to take LA down the hill at least one more time after her accident (because we didn't want her to remember the entire outing as a horrible experience), but she really wasn't interested in any more sledding that day.

Content to sit here all afternoon, KW didn't want to leave.

Back at D & J's house, warming up and playing games.

This picture only shows part of how horrible her face ended up being scraped up all down the left side. Poor girl, I'm so glad this was several weeks ago now and her face is all cleared up again.

And of course our annual group shots before heading home.
