As part of one of the many requirements for going along as a chaperone on the annual youth mission trip, I was required to write and tell my testimony publicly in front of my church. Every chaperone and student going on the trips had this requirement, and all the testimonies were collected in a small booklet that was printed for the whole church so they could pray for us as we prepared to go.

During our premartial counseling, the pastor told me for the first time what I needed to do to really become a Christian. He wrote down some simple notes on a tiny notecard that I've carried with me ever since for the past 14 years.
